Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week came and went and I couldn’t be happier to resume “normal” life. As much as I like to support the designers who have been good to me and the blog since Day 1, after getting off work in the evening, being out every night at shows is exhausting! Next season my goal is to have a few contributors covering for me so I don’t have to turn down invites. In any case, I did grace a few events and here’s what your girl wore to welcome the new fashion season!
I took in the Sammy Black S/S 2014 Runway Show in a black leather pencil skirt and the same $375 Tri Colorblock Blouse from Ohne Titel’s Resort 2013 collection worn recently by Jennifer Hudson and Khloe Kardashian [see here and here]. My semi-sheer aqua, black, and white stretch silk blouse features a flat collar, hidden button placket, and cuffable long sleeves. Get it at Barney’s and Shopbop.
Later in the week I posed with my gals Jill of Glamamom.com and Nicole of MomTrends.com at our semi-annual GLAM Network Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Dinner in a black bodysuit and $414 Helmut Lang Cicada-Print Overlap Skirt. The print will look familiar as Tasha Marbury made her “Basketball Wives Miami” debut a few weeks back in a $695 Helmut Lang Cicadae Print Dress in the same lizard multi green ‘Cicada’ pattern.
Black and white ikat-print joggers and a $255 Helmut Lang Fray Shirt were on tap for the alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring 2014 Fashion Presentation. My rice/zinc semi-sheer blouse features a V-neckline with button front, elbow-length rolled sleeves, opaque seaming at the shoulders and behind the neck, and a draped back panel. I threw my phone, wallet, and personal effects into my favorite neon yellow camera hobo bag and MAC Candy Yum Yum on my lips and I was good to go!
As fashion week came to a close I was pretty much all the way over wearing heels. So I slipped into black Rag & Bone jeans and a Lucid & Luxury Tee by Jennifer Williams for the FrontRow By Shateria Runway Show.
And there you have it!
Unfortunately, I skipped quite a few shows during the week due to scheduling conflicts, and tonight I blew off my final day of scheduled shows due to pure exhaustion. If you live in the NYC area and are interested in possibly covering shows for next season shoot me an email and let’s chat! xo
