#NYFW Personal Style Round-Up

The whirlwind that’s Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week came and went and I kicked it off with Cynthia Bailey and Optimum in American Apparel Riding Pants in pink cheeks, the Ellen Tracy Three-Quarter-Sleeve Knit Blazer in neon green, and gold glitter Badgley Mischka Humbie II Peep-Toe Pumps.  What better way to off-set the biting winter frost than with a splash of neon and some sparkle? Get into it!

  Dominique Auxilly showcased her Fall 2013 collection at the Reality of FASHION Reality of AIDS Fashion Show and I took in the show in RACHEL by Rachel Roy Shanghai Chic Velvet Tuxedo Skinny Pants with the INC International Concepts Sleeveless Colorblock Ponte-Knit Peplum Top.  The sleeveless ponte-knit top features a scoop neckline, peplum waist, and hidden back zipper with hook-and-eye closure.  My Black Dripping C’s necklace with matching earrings were gifted from Rich Girl’s Closet.

For the Mah-Jing Wong and Staci Sherri shows I paired NeNe Leakes’ ShoeDazzle ‘Nethia’ Booties with the Helmut Lang Drift Print Jersey Dress.  The soft wool V-neck dress features three quarter length sleeves, asymmetrical ruching tugs at the sides, an envelope hem that falls to the knees, and an allover rough driftwood print.  You’ll recognize the print as “Chrissy & Jim” reality star Chrissy Lampkin wore the One-Sleeve Drift Print top last season on the show, while Jennifer Hudson slipped into the Drift Print Leggings at her Pampers lullaby listening party.

The next afternoon I once again braved the frigid winter temps to attend the LaQuan Smith and Alice + Olivia presentations in a black and white monochrome look from A+O’s Spring 2013 collection.  The Josefina Shoulder Cut Out Dress features a jewel neck, cut-out peekaboo shoulder, and wide black stripe that snakes around the figure.  The black and white colorblock frock was also worn recently by reality stars Tia Mowry and Emily B.

My final day of Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week included a slew of shows, namely Diana Simaan, Andressa Leão, Michael Fenici, Studio 6th Sense, and Adolfo Sanchez. I closed out the week in fuchsia slim-fit ankle trousers, a flower headband from Urban Outfitters, and the black and white Diane von Furstenberg Annie Print Blouse [last spotted on Porsha Stewart here].  The [sold out] silk chiffon graphic-print blouse features half sleeves with rolled cuffs, a self tie neckline with pleat detail down the front, and gathered detail to the shoulders.
