Sam Fine Appointed Creative Makeup Director of Fashion Fair

Huge congrats to celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine, who was named creative makeup director of Fashion Fair, the cosmetic brand for women of color.  In his new role, the industry veteran will advise on the creation of new products, enrich Fashion Fair’s color palette, and make in-store appearances. In Spring 2012, he will unveil Sam Fine for Fashion Fair trend collections.

Sam has created covers and pages for Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Essence, and Marie Claire.  His clients have included Jennifer Hudson, Vanessa Williams, Iman, Naomi Campbell, and Tyra Banks.  His work is amazing! I had the opportunity to interview him last March at the Johnson’s Baby Oil and Essence Magazine “Girl Talk” Cause Party. He was so warm and personable, and gave me post-partum skin care advice for my then 5-months-pregnant self!

Wishing Sam all the best in this exciting new venture!

  1. I hope he turns the line around. Fashion Fair was prob the first line my mother bought me when I turned 16. I STILL love their lipsticks. They are so so creamy and rich. I per cannot wear the foundations because they are a bit too orange for me.
*sigh* He’s my idol. I am beyond jealous you met him still..he’s so perfect in person. LMAO!

Ick!!! @ too orange. Yeah, i hope they can figure out a way to update that formula. Such a classic brand… it’s not too late to come back!!!
Lol, every time i look at this picture I think of you, girl!!! I really do.

good for him! i don’t know a lot about that brand but i need to keep up with the latest cosmetics news because i want to eventually do something in that field!! so keep these posts coming!

lol, hahaha, i will. well fashion fair really hasnt been on the map in a while, so i’m sure they’re hoping that putting sam’s name with the brand brings it back to life. good move on their part, i think.

  3. His work is amazing! Maybe he can revamp FF. I would love to support.

I’m hoping the same. Not to use BBW lingo (lol), but we all know FF hasnt’ been “relevant” in a minute. So maybe having a new face to represent the brand will add a freshness and newness to it.
